The MSDBF – BestPack’s All-in-One Form, Pack and Seal Station

Case:
Numerous companies have packaging inefficiencies and repercussions from their packaging processes.  In these cases, we have a school lunch company, an auto parts company, a juice company, and a tofu manufacturer, all complain that their packaging processes create the following inefficiencies and consquences:
  1. Repetitive Motion – Manual hand taping of cases for prolonged periods of time can develop joint and tendon issues in the employee’s wrists, otherwise known as carpal tunnel syndrome
  2. Inefficient Forming of cartons – the bottom flap of cartons can slow an employee down in erecting cases
  3. Packers are too slow – The process of forming a carton, packing the carton, and sealing the carton is taking too long
  4. Pre-sealing bottom of box problems – sealing the bottom of box manually causes more tape used, inefficient application of tape, and the process takes longer than needed.  Pre-erecting boxes and stacking them can also take up valuable room needed for other tasks.
  5. Manual taping – causes more tape to be used on top & bottom of box and possibly double and triple taping of box
  6. No Air Supply – Pressurized air lines not available or costly to add at packaging station location
  7. Price - A Fully-automatic Case Erector is too expensive
Results:
BestPack’s MSDBF model all-in-one form/pack/seal station eliminates or improves the above inefficiencies by allowing the operator to easily open the box, pack the box, then push the box through the case sealer with relative ease and efficiency.
  1. The repetitive motion of using a hand tape gun to apply tape is eliminated.  The liability of joint and tendon issues are eliminated.
  2. There is now no need to flip the boxes around twice and seal bottom to erect case.  The operator just needs to open case and lay onto T-rail station.
  3. Packers can now easily lay cartons on T-station, package the case, and push the box in a relative quick process.
  4. No need to pre-seal the bottom of box.  More space not covered by pre-erected boxes.
  5. The same amount of tape is applied to box every single time.  Less consumable cost.
  6. The MSDBF only needs electricity and does not need pressurized air.
  7. Dramatically more cost efficient than a case erector.
The MSDBF is an economical solution to do what a case erector can do, without having to spend the money for one.  Although less automated, the operator is capable to do all his duties, reduce his liability, and improve his output with this popular case sealing solution

BestPack Packaging offers both the tape and case sealing machinery capable of creating these savings.  Case sealers are offered in uniform or random type, and they are also available in high speed options for a minimal upcharge.   Custom machines and stainless steel machines are available upon request.
